CORPUS CHRISTI BLIZZARD DAMAGE
JANUARY 23-24, 2005
The blizzard's high winds, gusting up to 80mph during the height of the storm Sunday night and Monday morning,
tore off large sections of the flashing that borders the roof of our church. Photos below show the damage
to the West transcept (main entrance) and North transcept. Notice, in the first photo, the missing cross!
It blew down and smashed into several fragments upon hitting the ground.
The storm cost our parish dearly in other ways, including extra snow removal expenses incurred
when we had to hire heavy construction equipment to clear snow from our church property.
Insurance is expected to cover most of the damage, except for our $1000 deductible, but not snow removal costs, etc.
Anything you can do to help defray these unforeseen expenses would be most appreciated!
