Eucharistic Ministers
Extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, or Eucharistic Ministers (EMs), are lay men and women who use their gifts of reverence, faith and presence to distribute Holy Communion at Mass, and/or to bring the Eucharist to those not able to participate at the liturgy, visiting them in their homes, hospitals, nursing homes, or in other such places of confinement. EMs are approved by the Pastor and attend a training session offered by the diocese and a parish training session before being commissioned. EMs assisting at Mass may expect to serve two times per month at regularly scheduled Masses. EMs are also called upon to serve at various special and Feast day Masses throughout the year.
