Consolation Ministry
The Consolation Ministry is comprised of ministers who, through their compassion and understanding, serve as Christs hands reaching out to people who have lost a loved one through to death. Ministers call on the family to offer condolences and to meet with them (if they wish) to help them prepare the funeral Mass by helping them to select the readings and the music, and by providing a collation if necessary. A very important part of this ministry are the ministers who bake and/or serve at the collation. No special training is needed – only a compassionate heart and a willingness to help those who are grieving.
