OUR CHURCH BUILDING
Covering Images
Following a long-time practice, our two statues in the church will be covered with purple veils for the time period recommended by the Church – from this Saturday (March 8, the day before the Fifth Sunday of Lent) through Holy Saturday. Thus, the final two weeks of Lent can take on a more solemn note of austerity. The cross (corpus) in our church will be covered from March 8 through the Celebration of the Lords Passion on Good Friday (3:00pm). The cross will be covered in purple for all days except Palm Sunday and Good Friday, when red is the color of the day.
WOMENS GUILD
The March 12th Womens Guild meeting will be our annual Soup Sampler meeting. Soup makers are needed as this is our Guest Luncheon. If you are bringing a Soup Pot, please notify Marguerite Conroy at 508-888-8930. The luncheon begins at 12:00pm and entertainment will follow.
MARYS CLOSET THRIFT SHOP
March weather is a challenge. Temperatures range from below freezing to the high 50s (sometimes even during the same day!). If you havent purchased your Easter outfit yet, waiting to see what the weather might be like, consider shopping for that special dress or suit at Marys Closet Thrift Shop. Our prices are so very reasonable that you could purchase more than one outfit and still be ahead. We have a fine selection of womens, mens and childrens spring fashions to choose from, some items are even brand new.
A while back we mentioned that we were planning a Bridal Fair and Fashion Show in the Skylight Room of the Parish Center. Well, the date has been set – Sunday, April 13th from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. Enjoy the financial benefits of Filenes Basements running of the brides without the stress and violence. We will also have flower girl, bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses available. An added benefit, representatives of wedding related activities will be present to help you with your planning. Photographers, musicians, hair stylists, florists, bakers, etc. who wish to participate, please call Marys Closet at 508-888-6637 Tuesday through Satruday between 10:00am – 3:00pm.
